Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 山口勝平,林原惠美,日高范子,高山南,井上喜久子腦子缺根弦兒的九能帶刀（鈴置洋孝 飾）路過邪馬臺古董店，在店內看到了極為珍貴的鳳凰蛋。傳說只要擁有這枚蛋，便可領會到威力無比的魔劍鳳凰劍。為了打敗宿敵亂馬（山口勝平 飾），成為至高無上的強者，九能強買下鳳凰蛋。不過店主（北村弘一 飾）叮囑，無論如何千萬不能將蛋放在頭頂，否則將由可怕的事情發生。不幸的是，亂馬無意中將蛋放在了九能的頭上，一只長相奇怪的鳥兒誕生了。它幫助九能成為足以打敗任何對手的強者。爭強好勝的亂馬無論如何都要挽回面子……本片根據高橋留美子的漫畫《亂馬1/2》改編，系該動畫的劇場版第3部。
