誓不遺忘
帕斯·貝加,西蒙·貝克,肯·戴維蒂安,科洛·莫瑞茲帕茲和西蒙是一對夫婦,他們與西蒙的女兒生活在一個小鎮上。西蒙是一支女子足球隊的教練。一個偶然的機會,西蒙的女兒在踢球時發現有人正在進行宗教儀式。她走近并拿走了一個器物,然而不久之后,女兒神秘失蹤了。西蒙和帕茲非常擔心女兒的安危,他們四處打聽消息,而西蒙尤為焦急。為了找到女兒,帕茲一方面為她祈禱,一方面尋求靈媒的協助。通過與西蒙的接觸,靈媒得以看到一些景象:一個男人被兩個人殺害,小女孩藏在床底下,倒立的十字架,紅色窗簾覆蓋在尸體上。 西蒙聽到這些描述感到震驚和恐懼,他急不可耐地與久未聯系的母親取得聯系,希望她能幫忙打聽消息。帕茲的表哥在警局工作,他雖然知道FBI已經接手此案,但仍愿意協助打聽消息。于是,西蒙和表哥一起前往人員繁忙的紅燈區。就在他們與負責該區域的警官交談時,一個妓女認出了西蒙,但叫他羅伯特。西蒙堅稱她認錯了人,妓女于是在紙巾上寫下一行字,邀請他私下交談。當晚,西蒙前往約定地點,但發現妓女已被殺。

利欲兩心
馬修·麥康納,阿爾·帕西諾,蕾妮·羅素,阿曼德·阿山特,杰里米·皮文,杰米·金,凱文·查普曼一次偶然中,布蘭登(馬修·麥康納 Matthew McConaughey 飾)發現自己竟然擁有一項如此神奇的特異功能——他能夠準確預測出每周末舉行的橄欖球比賽的結果。這一能力徹底扭轉了布蘭登失意而又頹廢的生活,同時也將他卷入了金錢和利益所構造的漩渦之中。 沃特(阿爾·帕西諾 Al Pacino 飾)經營著一家體育顧問公司,布蘭登的神奇能力在他的眼中無異于是一根點石成金的魔杖。野心勃勃的他找到了布蘭登,千方百計的說服了后者加入了他的公司。從此,沃特的事業扶搖直上,布蘭登也在沃特的身上找到了親情和友情。但隨著布蘭登的能力的逐漸流逝,他和沃特之間的關系也開始了動搖。兩人心中都有各自的想法,而最終的贏家只有一個。
等待方舟

The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart. Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory? n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in. What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts. On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired. One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places. Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
