 本片本講述的是：喬治·柯漢是本世紀前期著名的百老匯表演藝人，身兼演員、作家、作曲家與舞蹈家于一身，他的生平故事可以說反映了四十年代以前美國娛樂事業的生態。本片是導演邁克爾·柯蒂茲與編劇愛潑斯坦尼兄弟合作的另一佳片，描述柯漢從一個地位卑微的兒童演員力爭上游變成百老匯巨星的一生。以出色的制作和歌舞場面重現當年的娛樂圈面貌，并側面反映了當時的美國社會脈動。在三十年代以主演黑社會片享有盛譽的詹姆斯·卡格尼改變戲路，在銀幕上又唱又跳，生動而細膩地注釋了主人翁的形象和個性，因而勇奪奧斯卡最佳男主角金像獎，片中出色的歌舞表演亦令人看得眉飛色舞

一個拳手

拳擊手大卓因意外受傷告別了擂臺，在小區當了一個保安。在照顧患有癡呆癥父親的過程中，大卓漸漸理解了父親多年來對他的愛，父子間童年時的心結被解開。為彌補父親曾經的遺憾，大卓重拾信心，再一次站到了擂臺之上。

影片改編自蒲松齡《聊齋志異》之《聶小倩》。小倩生前被人所負含恨而終，死后化為女鬼，被姥姥囚禁于蘭若寺。恰逢書生寧生進京趕考，借宿此地，意外救下小倩。逃亡途中，兩人不斷遭遇人間及地府勢力的阻撓，卻也在此般經歷中感情升溫。寧生帶著小倩感受了人間美好，小倩決心還陽，卻在到達鬼市后發現事情遠沒有這么簡單……
