　　狄武周天授元年，嶺南潞州城司馬孔成業迷戀修道煉丹，傳聞找到了長生不老丹的藥方，只缺一味名叫彼岸花的奇草。傳言這是來自地獄的死亡之花，常年生長在墳冢幽谷之中，能致人產生幻覺，中幻覺者如妖邪附體般，發狂發癲，死狀凄慘。　　孔成業發出懸賞，采到彼岸花者，賞百金。山民獵戶等紛紛進山尋找，連孔成業也帶人到處扒墳冢、探幽谷。忙活的孔成業突然慘死，死前發狂。連他的幾名參軍也死相極慘，都說孔成業采到了彼岸花，被妖邪附身殺死，鬧得滿城風雨。潞州刺史陸英杰上報朝廷，恰逢狄仁杰巡查嶺南諸州，女皇武則天命其前往潞州，全權調查此案.。

1995年，東北吉春市，兩名戴著麻布頭套的悍匪連殺數人劫走巨款，現場不留活口，手法毒辣到讓全城膽寒。警察局長命令刑偵隊長張震調查此案。早已隱退“江湖”多年的趙紅兵因戰友被殺，決定聯合刑偵隊長張震為犧牲的戰友討回這筆血債。

A magical world of baroque submarines and sailing ships, killer octopus, undersea bicycles dazzles audiences as human actors, puppetry, animation and fanciful scenic design interact to create a cinematic experience that is unique by any standards.
